FACE
Q How to avoid overdoing Blush?
Smile or suck in your cheeks to locate the apples of your
cheeks. Begin at the center of the apple and apply blush up
to the corner of the eye and the temple. Blush should never
go below the bottom of your nose, or any closer in than the
iris of your eye. Applying blush high on the face makes your
eyes sparkle. After applying blush, blend with a dry makeup
sponge. Use the edge of the sponge like an eraser on the outer
edges of the applied blush to buff away any lines of demarcation.
Never apply blush below the cheekbones. This tripe of color
only creates an illusion that brings the face down and makes
you look older.
EYES
Q Best Color for my Eyes?
Tips on how to choose the right color to bring out the best
in your eyes.
Blue eyes
Try: Brown and rose. Warm shades contrast the coolness of
blue eyes, making them stand out. Apply from lashlines to
creases and top with black mascara.
Brown eyes
Try: Green and gold. Both shades will pick up the colored
flecks found in brown eyes. Choose a slightly shimmery texture,
and apply from lashlines to browbones, blending well.
Green eyes
Try: Lavender and mocha. Purple shades contrast your color,
making eyes look dramatic; warmer shades of mocha complement
green, giving a natural effect. Wear mocha for day, lavender
for night, and top both with brown mascara.
Hazel eyes
Try: Deep green and pale yellow. Depending on your mood, choose
a shadow shade that matches different flecks in your eyes.
For a twist, apply shadow, then line eyes with the same color,
using a liner brush dipped in water.
Q How can I make my eyes look younger?
Apply a little eye cream on the brow bone and under the eye.
This will reduce fine lines. Dab on a concealer that matches
your skin tones. The last step is to line the eye with a white
pencil just beneath the lash line. It will give the impression
of larger and brighter eyes.
Q How can I make my eyes look larger?
Brush a light shadow from lash line to brow. Add second layer
from lash line to crease. When applying liner, widen the line
at the outer edge to lift the corner. Line outer corners with
dark pencil and then top with shadow of similiar color. An
icy blue eyeliner along the lash line will open up "heavy"
eyes. Curl lashes at corner of your eyes. Use black or navy
mascara to add definition. Use an ivory or white highlighter
beneath the brow. Your coloring will help determine the color
you choose. Darken brows to frame the eyes. Ignoring the brow
area can completely ruin all the work you have done to open
up the eye area.
Q Do I have to match eye shadow
and Lipstick?
When it comes to your eye and lip make up. It's OK to go with
the same hues. However, it will be better if you use colors
that will complement each other. In that same sense, Make
up and Outfits do not have to match exactly. People seldom
put on orange shadow, orange lipstick and wear orange dress
all at the same time. Obviously, it's Halloween. When doing
your eyes in a funky color or dramatic, down play the lips
with a clear gloss or nude shiny lipstick. Always go for the
natural look.
Q Puffy lidded eyes or eyes without
defined crease?
Apply a touch of black eye shadow in the center of the upper
lashline. Sweep a taupe or natural color eye shadow over the
crease and slightly above it. Use an eye shadow shade that's
lighter on the browbones and lids. This way, when the light
hits your peepers, the highlighted area of the eyes will stand
out as the crease appears, well, creased! The upper lids lined
with black shadow in the center provides a contrast with the
highlighted lid to create more visible lids.
Q What mascara color is best for
me?
A black-brown or dark brown shade flatters most. Black looks
best only on deepest brunettes. Navy Blue looks great on dark
lashes. Light lashes should use black-brown or brown first,
then finish with a coat of navy.
Q Do I curl before or after applying
Kiss Me mascara?
Curling your lashes with an eyelash curler before applying
any mascara and then quickly again after applying two coats
and letting it dry, will make even short skimpy lashes look
wonderful!
Q What can I do about my mascara
drying out?
Don't Pump Up! Never, ever pump the wand - this adds air to
the mascara container, which will only make your mascara dry
out faster.
LIPS
Q Why should I use a Lip Liner?
A lip liner is used to define and create the perfect pout.
You can use your natural line or draw a more defined larger
lip.
Directions for lining the lips:
Start with the center of your lips, the heart of the upper
lip. Start with defining the right side from the center to
the right corner. Continue with the bottom lip over to the
left corner. Move to the upper lip and close the heart. Always
use a liner that is a shade or two darker than your lipstick,
stick with the same tone (don't use red with a brown lip color).
Always use lip liner when using lip-gloss, it will add to
the sexy pout.
